The Light Bearing Enigma Express is PHLster's pre-assembled beltless concealed carry system for full-size, duty-sized pistols with a Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR-1 weapon-mounted light. It includes the Floodlight2 holster, Enigma faceplate, waist belt, and two leg leash options — everything you need to start carrying without a belt, right out of the box. No assembly required.
Included Floodlight2 Holster: The Floodlight2 indexes on the weapon light — not the gun itself — so it fits a wide range of duty-sized pistols as long as you have a supported X300 or TLR-1 attached. Two-way adjustment gives you solid retention and a better fit than most "universal" holsters, and patent-pending ComfortScape™ technology makes the holster surface smooth, ventilated, and comfortable for all-day wear. The Floodlight2 is fully ambidextrous.
Patented Variable-Flex Faceplate: The Enigma's faceplate is stiffer where it passes over the holster wing and more flexible over the slide, making the grip tuck close to the body to reduce printing across different body types. Two selectable buckle positions help control slide and optic printing.
Carry Without a Belt: The Enigma doesn't anchor to your clothing. Position your holster wherever it's best for your body shape — not where your belt happens to sit. Wear it with jeans, dress pants, gym shorts, scrubs, or sweats. From the office to the gym, you have complete freedom of wardrobe.
Two Leg Leash Options Included: The Single Point leg leash wraps around your upper thigh with an elastic insert for a forgiving, comfortable fit. The Two Point leg leash fits like a step-in climbing harness and is ideal for active lifestyles. Both feature patented quick-adjust buckles and softer webbing. Choose whichever works best for your body and activities.
What's in the Box:
- Light Bearing Enigma Express faceplate (pre-assembled)
- Floodlight2 holster (pre-attached, fully ambidextrous)
- Waist belt with Fidlock magnetic buckle (fits up to 48" waist)
- Single Point leg leash (fits up to 36" thigh)
- Two Point leg leash (fits up to 36" thigh)
- All necessary hardware
Who This Product Is For: The Light Bearing Enigma Express is for anyone who carries a full-size pistol with an X300 or TLR-1 weapon light and wants the freedom to conceal without depending on a gun belt. It's the easiest way to get started with the Enigma system for light-bearing guns — no assembly, no sourcing a separate holster, no guesswork. Keep your expectations reasonable: a full-size gun with a weapon light is a large package and will be harder to conceal on some body types than a compact pistol.
Not sure which Enigma model is right for you? Use the PHLster Guided Holster Choice to find the best fit for your firearm and accessories.
If your gun does NOT have a weapon light, you need the Enigma Express instead. If you want to use a different holster shell or carry a gun with a different light (such as a TLR-7), you need the Light Bearing Enigma OS, which does not include a holster. For extended waist sizing up to 64", add the Sport Belt accessory (no tools required to swap). For added comfort, consider the Wedge Rx.
All Enigma models are optics compatible and can be configured for right- or left-handed use. Patent pending.
[TAB:Compatibility]
Important: The Light Bearing Enigma Express uses the Floodlight2 holster, which indexes on the weapon light — not the gun. Your pistol must have one of the supported lights listed below attached to it. The Floodlight2 does NOT work with any other weapon lights. If your light isn't listed, you need the Light Bearing Enigma OS with a compatible third-party holster instead.
Supported Weapon Lights

- Surefire X300U-T (X300T)
- Streamlight TLR-1

NOT Compatible — Pistols
- Steyr pistols — NOT compatible with the Floodlight2
- Subcompact pistols — The Floodlight2 is designed for duty-sized and compact-duty-sized guns. Very small pistols may not make proper contact with the holster for safe retention.
- Pistols with aggressive aftermarket modifications — Aftermarket frames, gas pedals, aggressive slide serrations, or other protruding accessories may interfere with holstering. Contact PHLster support if you're unsure.
Optics and Sights
- Slide-mounted red dot sights: Compatible
- Suppressor-height sights: Compatible
- Compensators and threaded barrels: Generally compatible
If your gun or light combination isn't listed above, or if you want to use a smaller light such as the TLR-7, consider the Light Bearing Enigma OS with a compatible holster shell from the Light Bearing Enigma Fit Guide.
[/TAB] [TAB:Sizing]
Waist Belt
The included nylon waist belt fits up to a 48" waist. If you need a larger size, the Sport Belt accessory extends the fit range up to 64" and adds a comfortable elastic back panel. The Sport Belt swaps in with no tools required.
Leg Leash
Both included leg leashes accommodate up to a 36" thigh circumference. Measure around the widest part of your upper thigh where you plan to wear the leash.
How to Measure Your Waist
Measure around your body at the point where you plan to wear the Enigma. This is typically at or slightly below your natural waist, roughly at the navel. The Enigma is worn under your clothing, so measure over a thin layer (underwear or a t-shirt). Do not measure over bulky clothing.
Buckle Options
The included Fidlock magnetic buckle provides easy on/off. If the buckle is too wide for your frame or if it creates a pressure point on your hip bone, the optional Reduced Size Buckle cuts the buckle footprint by about 50%. The Reduced Size Buckle works with all Enigma models.
[/TAB] [TAB:FAQ]
What guns does the Light Bearing Enigma Express fit?
The included Floodlight2 holster fits most duty-sized pistols, as long as the gun has a Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR-1 attached. It indexes on the weapon light, not the gun, so it works with a wide variety of pistols including Glock 17/19/34, Smith & Wesson M&P, Sig P226/P229, HK VP9, CZ P-10, FN 509, Beretta 92, 1911/2011 pattern guns, and more. See the Compatibility tab for the full list.
Can I use a TLR-7, TLR-7A, or Olight with the Light Bearing Enigma Express?
No. The Floodlight2 holster only supports the Surefire X300U/X300T and Streamlight TLR-1/TLR-1S/TLR-1 HL. No other weapon lights will work. If you have a TLR-7 or another light, you need the Light Bearing Enigma OS and a compatible holster shell instead.
Is the Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X compatible?
No. The TLR-1 HL-X and TLR-1 HPX have a different body shape than the standard TLR-1 HL, and they do NOT fit the Floodlight2. Only the TLR-1, TLR-1S, and TLR-1 HL are supported.
Can I conceal a full-size gun with a weapon light?
Yes, but keep your expectations reasonable. A duty-sized pistol with a mounted light is a large package. The Enigma's faceplate and adjustability help tuck the gun close to your body, and the variable-flex design reduces printing. Many people successfully conceal full-size setups, but your body type and clothing choices will affect results. Loose-fitting shirts and mid-rise pants help significantly.
Can I carry in gym shorts, sweatpants, or scrubs with the Light Bearing Enigma Express?
Yes. Because the Enigma doesn't attach to your clothing, it works with anything — gym shorts, sweatpants, scrubs, leggings, dress pants, jeans, or even a towel after a shower. The inner belt holds the gun securely around your waist independent of whatever you're wearing.
What's the difference between the Light Bearing Enigma Express and the Light Bearing Enigma OS?
The Light Bearing Enigma Express comes fully assembled with the Floodlight2 holster included. It's the easiest way to get started. The Light Bearing Enigma OS does NOT include a holster — you provide your own compatible shell. The OS is better for tinkerers, people who want to use a different holster brand, or people whose gun/light combo isn't supported by the Floodlight2 (such as a TLR-7).
Is the Light Bearing Enigma Express compatible with red dot optics?
Yes. All Enigma models are optics compatible. The Floodlight2 accommodates slide-mounted red dots, suppressor-height sights, compensators, and threaded barrels.
Can I set it up for left-handed carry?
Yes. The Floodlight2 holster is fully ambidextrous, and the Enigma faceplate's buckle can be installed on either side. The Light Bearing Enigma Express can be configured for right- or left-handed use.
What if the included belt doesn't fit me?
The included belt fits up to a 48" waist. For larger waist sizes (up to 64"), add the Sport Belt accessory, which swaps in with no tools. The Sport Belt also has a wider elastic back panel for improved comfort and includes pockets. If you have a smaller frame and the Fidlock buckle creates a pressure point on your hip bone, try the optional Reduced Size Buckle.
Do I still need to adjust it even though it comes pre-assembled?
Yes. The Light Bearing Enigma Express comes assembled, but you'll need to adjust the waist belt tightness, leg leash, holster position, and buckle placement to fit your body. Most people don't get a perfect fit immediately — take some time to experiment with the adjustments. PHLster provides detailed instruction videos and guides on their website.
Can I use a different holster with the Light Bearing Enigma Express?
The Light Bearing Enigma Express is designed to be used with the included Floodlight2 holster. It is not recommended for use with other manufacturers' holster shells. If you want to use a third-party holster, buy the Light Bearing Enigma OS instead.
What accessories should I consider?
Popular accessories include the Sport Belt (extended sizing and comfort), Wedge Rx (improved comfort and concealment), Reduced Size Buckle (smaller buckle footprint), Papoose by Levo Designs (fabric liner for skin comfort), and magazine pouch adapters for carrying a spare mag on the Enigma belt.
Can you make me a custom holster?
No, sorry, we don't do any custom work. All PHLster products are standardized designs. If the Light Bearing Enigma Express doesn't fit your specific gun and light combination, check the PHLster Guided Holster Choice to find the right Enigma model for your setup.
