The Sig Sauer P365 is one of the most popular concealed carry pistols of all time. But there are many variations among the p365 family, and not all of them fit the same holsters. How can you tell which holster will fit your Sig P365?
This article will help explain which Sig P365 models fit which PHLster holsters. It can be confusing! This guide will help you choose the correct size holster for your P365, P365XL, P365X, p365 XMacro, p365 Spectre, Spectre comp, p365 Rose, and many more. We’ll also discuss a few of the most popular aftermarket frames.
Note that this guide is for polymer (plastic) framed p365s only, without lights or lasers attached. We do not make holsters for metal framed p365s, such as the P365-AXG Legion or aftermarket metal frames.
The first step in finding a holster for your Sig P365 is to determine which model you have. Most pistols have engraving on the slide that tells you the model, HOWEVER, many Sig p365 models have the same slide engraving, even though they are different sizes. Naturally, this leads to a lot of confusion, as they will not fit the same holsters.
The best way to know for sure which model you have is to contact Sig’s customer support. Have your serial number ready, and they will be able to tell you your exact model.
If you have the original box for your gun, you can also check the manufacturer’s sticker.
Both of these guns say “P365 X” on the slide, but they are two totally different models, and do not fit the same holsters. Confusing! The gun on the left is a P365X, and the one on the right is a P365 XMACRO. Holsters for these two cannot be switched – they are not interchangeable.
Within the p365 family, there are four main holster builds. These are the P365, the P365-380, the P365XL, and the P365 XMACRO. While there are dozens of different polymer framed p365 models, most of them will fit one of these four basic holster categories.
The smallest of the P365 family, this holster will fit the original p365, the P365 SAS, and the P365X.
While similar in overall size to the 9mm P365, the .380 version of the P365 has slightly different dimensions and will only fit our P365-380 holsters.
These holsters have a longer muzzle to fit the longer barrel of the P365XL. They will also fit the P365-XL Rose Comp, the P365 Spectre, the P365-XL Spectre Comp, and so on.
The P365XL holster WILL fit a p365 or p365X, but the holster will be longer than the gun, so you will have a little extra space at the muzzle end. Some folks prefer this extra holster length for the Keel Effect, but don’t order a longer holster unless you know for sure that’s what you want. Longer holsters can increase muzzle printing in tight clothing such as leggings.
These holsters are built differently to accommodate the rail in front of the trigger guard on the XMACRO series pistols. They will fit the XMACRO and the XMACRO TACOPS. They will NOT fit any of the p365 models without the rail, such as the p365 or p365XL
The original P365 and the P365 SAS are the smallest of the P365 family. The following variants will all fit our P365 holster:
All the variants listed above will fit the Enigma Express for the P365. They will also fit the PHLster Skeleton holster for the P365. Choose “Sig P365/P365X” from the dropdown menu on the product page.

Note: By default, we recommend most users choose a holster that fits flush with the barrel end of their gun. However, if you require extra muzzle length for the Keel effect, you may choose a P365XL sized holster for your P365 or P365X. If you do so, the holster will extend past the muzzle.
The P365X is identical in frame and slide size to the P365, and shares the P365 holster. The only difference between the P365 and P365X is the length of the grip, which does not affect holster compatibility.
The following variants will all fit our P365 holster:

Note that the P365 and the P365X variants can share the same size holster (the only difference is the length of the grip). Choosing the P365 holster will mean your holster will fit flush with the muzzle of the gun. If you prefer extra muzzle length, so that your holster extends beyond the barrel of the gun, then you can choose the longer P365XL holster instead.
The P365XL has a longer barrel and slide than the original P365. It will only fit our P365XL holsters, and will not fit the smaller P365 holster.
There are many different variants that are P365XL sized. The following models will all fit our P365 XL holster:
Additionally, the following models will fit our P365XL holster, but with extra muzzle length. While the frame sizes of these guns are identical, they have shorter barrels, so the holster will extend past the muzzle of the gun.

First, double check and make sure you have the Sig Rose in 9mm, not .380, as they are different sizes. If you have the Sig Rose in 9mm, it is identical in size to the P365XL. Choose a P365XL holster.
The P365 Rose may go by different names. It may be called the P365 Rose Comp, P365-XL Rose Comp, P365-XL Rose, P365-XL ROSE COMP ROMEOZero ELITE, or similar. All of these variants are identical in size to the P365XL, as long as they are 9mm and not .380 – choose a P365XL holster.
(Note: This does NOT include the Rose in 380. The 380 version of the Rose requires a different holster – they are not interchangeable.)
The following variants will work with our P365XL holster:
The P365-XL Comp Rose (in 9mm, not .380) is the same size as the P365XL. It will fit the Enigma Express for the P365XL. It also will fit the PHLster Skeleton holster for the P365XL. Choose “Sig P365 XL” from the dropdown menu on the product page.
Because the P365-XL Comp Rose is LONGER than a regular P365, it will NOT fit our holster for the P365. If you order the shorter P365 holster, the gun will bottom out and you won’t be able to insert it fully.

The Sig Rose in .380 caliber is a slightly different size than the rest of the P365 family. It will work with our P365-380 holster ONLY. The 380 and 9mm versions of the P365 are not interchangeable.

The P365-XMACRO will fit the Enigma Express for the P365-XMACRO. It also will fit the PHLster Skeleton holster for the P365-XMACRO. Choose “Sig P365-XMACRO” from the dropdown menu on the product page.
Because Sig changed the frame dimensions for the P365-XMACRO, it will NOT fit a holster made for any other p365. And no other P365 variants will fit the XMACRO holster – they are not interchangeable.

The following aftermarket grip modules are identically sized to their respective P365 variant, and will work with the holster for that variant. If you don’t see your aftermarket device on this list, assume it will NOT fit.
As a general rule, if the aftermarket grip module is made of polymer and IDENTICAL in dimension to it’s P365 variant, it will probably fit the PHLster holster for that variant.
If the aftermarket grip module is made of metal, or has any frame or slide parts that are different from the standard dimensions, it WILL NOT FIT. That includes things like gas pedals, extended slide or magazine releases, reshaped trigger guards, lightened slides, large serrations, grip ledges, etc. Mischief Machine and Icarus Precision grip modules will NOT fit. With aftermarket equipment, if in any doubt, assume it will NOT fit.

*If you’re carrying a longer-muzzled gun or a revolver, adding extra holster length may not be necessary for you, but for short semiautomatic guns, it’s often helpful.
Guns with short muzzles can be top-heavy and difficult to conceal comfortably. To solve this, some holsters have extra length added to the muzzle end. Like the keel on a boat, the extra muzzle length helps balance the holster, making it more comfortable and easier to conceal. This is especially true if you have a bit of a belly, which tends to push the grip out more and make the muzzle dig in.
Note that while extra muzzle length reduces grip printing, it can increase muzzle printing, which can be a concern with lower carry positions and tight fitting pants such as leggings or yoga pants.
