PHLSTER

Enigma Express: Why is it made like this?

The Enigma Express is unlike either of our other Enigmas because it comes entirely assembled WITH a holster.

Holster

Skeleton Holster

Our Skeleton Holster was designed with the Enigma in mind. It has no clip blocking, and is ultra low profile. This is also a fixed retention holster, which allows us to firmly secure the holster to the faceplate without changing the retention.

Faceplate

Tegris Faceplate

The Enigma face plate is made from Tegris, a thin and strong material that we have shaped to help conceal a gun with no extra bulk or weight. It can withstand repeated flexing without cracking, fraying, or breaking. The faceplate has just the right amount of flex to conform to the body while remaining stiff enough to interact with the wing and tuck the grip of your gun close to your body for even better concealment.

Fidlock Buckle + Belt

Enigma comes with a simple nylon belt and a reduced size magnetic Fidlock buckle. The lack of belt stretch prevents your gun from bouncing, and the thin material keeps the system low profile. Here’s a quick buckle demonstration.

Leg Leash

Leg Leash

It comes with a nylon leg leash that allows you to draw your firearm without the holster moving up as you draw. We tested the Enigma in ground-fighting scenarios, and learned that the system needed something to keep it anchored in position during these activities. The leg leash is necessary, and when adjusted right, is hardly noticeable. Watch this video to learn more about proper leg leash adjustment:

EMOD Wing Inserts

The Angled ModWing inserts are designed for a smooth and slim interface with the Enigma faceplate. These come already installed on your Enigma Express (but must be purchased separately for the Standard and LBE).

Do you need extra holster length?*

*If you’re carrying a longer-muzzled gun or a revolver, adding extra holster length may not be necessary for you, but for short semiautomatic guns, it’s often helpful.

Guns with short muzzles can be top-heavy and difficult to conceal comfortably. To solve this, some holsters have extra length added to the muzzle end. Like the keel on a boat, the extra muzzle length helps balance the holster, making it more comfortable and easier to conceal. This is especially true if you have a bit of a belly, which tends to push the grip out more and make the muzzle dig in.

Note that while extra muzzle length reduces grip printing, it can increase muzzle printing, which can be a concern with lower carry positions and tight fitting pants such as leggings or yoga pants.
